This is used to set the selecting flooding value into the arrays of the nodes for each round. Secondly, this is followed by the FloodMax and FloodMin stages; each stage is D round run, which is made to propagate the flooding value in each node’s d-neighborhood. At the FloodMax stage, each node broadcasts its flooding value to all of its 1-hop neighbors, and then it chooses the largest flooding value from the received values and its own flooding value. Each node then sets this as its new flooding value.

In this paper, we describe a modification of the Max-Min DCluster’s cluster head selection [6] by considering the residual energy level and the degree of each node in the head selection process. The main objective is to avoid choosing nodes with lower residual energy and degree as cluster head by considering two additional parameters for each node. Since evenly consumed energy among the nodes in the network is the desired objective of our scheme its use could extend the lifetime of the sensor network.
