I find it hard to believe that a bully or predator will want you bad enough to run into gunfire to chase you down. If you get a carry permit for personal defense you do have both a legal and moral obligation to exert reasonable control over your gunfire. You can’t just spray and pray. The ability to shoot on the move is within the capacity of any reasonably coordinated individual, but in my opinion, practice should be limited to airsoft unless you have professional coaching. If you learn shoot-and-move techniques you are preparing for the real world.
This is a psychological stop. A firearm should be a tool of last resort, but when utilized it the intention should be to stop the impending threat completely. If however, you are faced with an attacker engorged with rage or high on drugs or drunk you may need to shoot until they are physically unable to continue the attack. Physical incapacitation may be caused by a lucky shot to the brain or spine. More likely you will need sufficient hits to the center mass to cause incapacitation through blood loss.
If I am shot, I will fight through the pain.
